Elastic Engineer
The Opportunity:

Work with clients and peers to build high performing Endpoint Detection and Response ( EDR ) processes using Elastic Defend and Trellix to aggregate logs from many systems into a single common schema. Use Elastic Common Schema ( ECS ) formatted fields, create quality visualizations and alerts that analyst can use for threat hunting, maintain infrastructure, and identify problems or anomalous behavior before they become a larger issue and can be actioned on.

Work with the vendor to determine best practices for deployment and maintenance of system architecture and deploy within designated security requirements. Orchestrate the development of a system of interest, encompassing hardware or sof tware through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk or opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project.

Apply advanced consult ing skills and extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

You Have:

• Experience with Elastic Defend and Elastic Stack such as Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana tools, including installing, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting these products
• Experience with Trellix
• Knowledge of cryptography protocols and standards, including TLS, mTLS, hashing algorithms, and Public Key Infrastructure ( PKI )
• Knowledge of federal compliance standards, including NIST 800-53, FIPS, STIG, and FedRAMP
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud containerization solutions such as Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes ( ECK )
• Experience with NiFi, Kafka, and Confluent
• Experience with Office 365 applications and Teams collaboration
• Experience interacting with tools through RDP, web-based UI, SSH, and CLI
• Experience in the DoW, Intelligence Community, or other regulated environments
• Knowledge of Elastic Index Lifecycle Management ( ILM )
• Knowledge of Linux or UNIX environments, including navigating and troubleshooting basic OS issues
• Knowledge of networking protocols
• Knowledge of how various systems interact with each other
• Knowledge of Zero T rus t Architecture ( ZTA ) principles

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,900.00 to $ (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
