Maintenance Technician
Location:
Haleyville, AL, 35565
- Work safety in a facility and notifies appropriate person of unsafe practices or conditions and follows up to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
- Troubleshoot, identify failed components and repair electrical equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance functions.
- Work in a team environment including various and evolving facilities and maintenance tasks as defined by the supervisor.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, machine parts, or specifications to determine defective items and repairs needed.
- Visually inspects and tests machinery to detect or prevent wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Detects equipment malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, and/or internal and external stakeholders as needed to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Realigns and adjusts equipment and components.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearing, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Interact professionally with contractors on site.
- Communicate and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
- 2+ years' experience working as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial environment.
- Experience working on electrical systems up to 480 volts.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical concepts.
- Experience working with shop equipment, wood, metal and/or sheet metal.
- Good troubleshooting skills.
- Able to climb and use ladders.
- Carry or maneuver 50+ pounds.
- Able to maneuver in confined spaces; twist, bend, stoop, or stand for long periods of time.
- Able to have manual dexterity and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Be able to be certified to drive a forklift.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook.
- App based maintenance or facilities software.
- HVAC and Pipe Fitting experience a plus.
- Experience with boilers, Environmental Chambers and CNC Mills a plus.
