Mariners Church is a vibrant and welcoming community located in Half Moon Bay, dedicated to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ and making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families. With a congregation of approximately 200-250 active participants, the church serves as a beacon of hope in an unchurched area, fostering connections that reach beyond its walls.

Our weekly services are heavily focused on worship, praise, and the teachings of the Bible to become who God intends us to be.

Vision for Growth:
Mariners Church envisions significant growth and transformation by 2030. Our goals include expanding our congregation to 500 members, developing youth and family ministries, and increasing participation in Life Groups from 30% to 75%. We also aim to enhance outreach to neighboring communities and foster a culture of openness where families can worship together.

Community Engagement:
The church aspires to be more involved in outreach initiatives within the Coastside communities, serving those in need and creating opportunities for fellowship and growth.

Worship Teaching:
The contemporary worship experience is characterized by enthusiasm and a spirit of praise, with an open door for everyone to “come as they are.” The format includes welcome, band-led worship, message, and announcements.

Ministries Programs:
Mariners Church emphasizes youth and family ministries and the development of Life Groups to encourage personal connections and spiritual growth.

Mariners Community Church seeks a passionate and dynamic Lead Pastor to shepherd the congregation and engage with the unchurched community. The ideal candidate will embody our core values and vision, fostering spiritual growth, involvement, and outreach to cultivate a thriving and vibrant church environment that inspires individuals and families to connect with Jesus and each other.

• Vision, Strategic Planning, Culture — Collaborate with church leadership to articulate a clear vision and strategic plan for spiritual growth and outreach. Analyze metrics related to church engagement and effectiveness, and adapt strategies to meet the congregation’s needs. Maintain a culture of openness and authenticity, encouraging families to worship together. Inspire volunteerism and ensure active engagement in ministry and outreach opportunities.
• Teaching, Shepherding, Discipleship — Provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care to the congregation, fostering spiritual growth. Deliver biblically sound messages that deepen understanding of Scripture. Mentor and disciple members and ministry leaders to strengthen growth and discipleship. Teach stewardship and financial literacy to empower generous giving.
• Leadership Management — Guide Steering Team and membership to understand Mariners Community Church constitution and bylaws. Provide guidance, direction, and accountability for staff with appropriate delegation. Demonstrate emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution skills. Lead diverse ministry teams and foster integrity, collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Oversee business operations and administration. Facilitate leadership development for new ministries and future leaders.
• Ministry Worship Development — Develop Bible-based sermon series and strategic ministry initiatives. Collaborate with the Worship Team to create worship experiences that glorify God and foster deep connections. Exercise judgment in addressing sensitive issues appropriately.
