Position: Clerk 2 - Food Safety
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused  Secretary 2 (ADM
06)  to provide temporary administrative support for their food safety program in  Halifax, NS .

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting both internal teams and the public.  Contract role  offers a consistent  part-time schedule  and the opportunity to contribute to an important public service initiative in a  fully on-site  environment.

Monday–Thursday schedule ( 28 hours/week )

Responsibilities

Prepare general correspondence and documentation

Schedule appointments and coordinate calendars

Arrange travel and process expense reports

Compose non-routine correspondence and reports

Maintain filing systems and records management processes

Respond to phone inquiries and provide customer support

Assist with permit processing and administrative coordination

Provide in-person support to clients and stakeholders

Perform other related administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

Grade XI education required

Completion of a one-year commercial or business course preferred

Minimum 3 years of related administrative experience

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office systems

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered
