The Opportunity

The Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry, including database entry; ordering and maintaining supplies; required transport functions; answering phones.

Hours of Work

10.5 hour shifts; 0700- 1900 or 1900–0700

Your Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates).
  • Knowledge of SAP an asset.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset.
  • Knowledge of Meditech preferred.
  • Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required, 60 wpm is preferred (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates).
  • Data entry skills required.
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required.
  • High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus.
  • Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills required.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset.
