What it’s like to be a Northbridge Business Delivery Lead

The Business Delivery Lead will work closely with Business Leads to translate business needs into system requirements and to ensure successful implementation into the operations. They are responsible for defining the system development backlog and performing prioritization according to customer value. This requires a detailed understanding of customer needs, as well as business vision and strategy, to prioritize investment, business value and delivery.

The Business Delivery Lead must be able to collaboratively work within multiple evolving development methodologies including iterative Agile and sequential Waterfall programs and projects, and variations thereof.

This position serves as the day to day decision maker and provides continual business guidance for the execution team. This position is responsible for prioritizing the delivery team's work so that it aligns with Northbridge business strategy. The role leads, manages or orchestrates activities for completion and works with the business and IT delivery teams to identify and mitigate risks to include business operational risks.

If you are great at:

  • Elaborating business requirements based on high level direction provided by the Business Lead.

  • Being accountable for managing a delivery team’s backlog, sequencing into sprints, and ensuring that the delivery team is working on requests in the right order.

  • Strategizing with Business Leads and stakeholders on issues related to product requests, vision and overall business value.

  • Being able to work independently on medium to large complexity efforts

  • Identifying, engaging and influencing business stakeholders and subject matter experts.

  • Managing, prioritizing, and assessing the impact of all work items, such as new features, defects, etc., including providing the decision to create, fix or defer at the project level.

  • If you have:

  • Knowledge of the Insurance Industry including Underwriting, Reinsurance, Claims Processing and Policy and forms generation.

  • Previous demonstrated experience as a Product Owner.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis or business operations/product line or relevant work experience with Agile.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent on the job experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of multiple technical software delivery life cycles (i.e., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Advanced knowledge of change management practices and process engineering methodologies.

  • Experience leading cross functional teams.

  • Effective communication skills.

    We’re committed to pay transparency and fairness. The annualized base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $160,000, which reflects the expected base pay or – not the total compensation package, if applicable. The actual base salary may vary depending on your experience, skills, and alignment with the position. We’re also open to candidates at different levels, so if this range doesn’t quite match your expectations, don’t let that hold you back — we’d still love to hear from you.
