About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Film Fund, the Film Fund Coordinator is responsible for efficiently reviewing and processing claims of CCTH’s film incentive programs, including, but not limited to, the Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund (NSFTPIF). The role also provides oversight of the Screenwriters Development Fund (SDF). Through timely follow‑up and quick responsiveness to inquiries, the Film Fund Coordinator provides the utmost level of customer service to CCTH’s clients.
The Film Fund Coordinator pays close attention to the details to provide quality adjudication of claims packages, ensures a quick turnaround in processing time, and effectively communicates with both internal and external contacts. Under minimal supervision and guidance, and through analysis and consultation, this position is the central relationship manager responsible for providing support, advice, recommendations and subject matter expertise in relation to film funding claims and pre‑development program grants administration on behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia.
Primary Accountabilities
Responsible for the process and payment of Film Fund claims, ensuring submissions meet all program, financial, and contractual requirements.
Conducts detailed review and evaluation of each claim package, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues directly with clients.
Maintains accurate and timely claim documentation, workflows, and payment records to support audit and program accountability.
Sets up and sends reminders to clients to submit claims to CCTH based upon established scheduling.
Monitors program email for claims applications and inquiries for response; organizes the claim package as per our internal processes and ensures order of documentation is consistent.
Reviews claim submissions for completeness and accuracy, to ensure all requirements are met.
Enters and maintains claim and application data to ensure accurate tracking, reporting and audit readiness for all applications and claims.
Monitors files as they progress and ensures target dates are on track with the applicable contract; prepares bi‑annual progress reporting and other relevant program reports as required.
Administers the Screenwriters Development Fund grant program, specifically application intake, assessment, client communications and reporting.
Effectively manages program budgets.
Develops and maintains relationships with clients within the province to build awareness of programs that support the development and production of film and television properties in Nova Scotia.
Provides input into program design, the development of an accountability framework including monitoring, measurement and risk assessment tools, and the implementation of an assessment framework to measure program outcomes and properly evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
Qualifications And Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelors’ degree, preferably in the fields of finance or accounting, arts, communications and media studies or audiovisual arts. Five (5) years of related experience working in program administration and/or program delivery or in other related capacities within the film and television sector, is required.
