Job Description What is the Opportunity?

Drive strategic impact as Senior Manager, Business Management & Halifax Engagement Lead on the HR & CLAO IT COO team. As a senior member of the team, you’ll take the lead on a broad range of financial management, executive reporting, workforce strategy, and employee engagement & enablement initiatives. You’ll also be responsible for enhancing the culture of our Halifax teams and supporting enhanced collaboration within Halifax and connection with the larger team in Toronto.

This is the role for someone who thrives influencing how we operate across multiple dimensions by working on a variety of tasks in a dynamic environment where no two days are ever the same.

What you will do?
  • Collaborate with IT leads and Finance to track progress against NIE and application development budgets for Procurement, CRE and Occupancy IT
  • Pull together financial and operational data from Procurement, CRE, and Occupancy IT to produce executive reports (including the monthly update to the CLAO senior executives);
  • Identify finance issues, flag to the appropriate leader and support resolution.
  • Build and execute the workforce strategy for HR & CLAO IT
  • Track progress throughout the year and adjust as needed
  • Create strategies and put in place initiatives and tracking mechanisms to keep employees engaged and build capability
  • As Halifax hub engagement lead for the HR & CLAO IT team (~30 people): enhance engagement, drive connection between Halifax, Toronto, and other geographies, surface issues to leadership, and represent HR & CLAO IT to GFT Halifax hub leadership
What you need to succeed?
  • Experience on COO-level operations or (strategic) planning teams at large, complex organizations
  • 7+ years in internal communications, employee engagement, and/or executive reporting at a large organization
  • 7+ years working with budgets and financial management in large, matrixed organizations
  • Experience working with senior executives
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Demonstrable ability to pick up new systems and tools quickly

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or certification in business, finance, communication or other relevant area
  • Banking sector experience
  • Experience using AI tools in the workplace
