* CBC Indigenous Pathways is heading to Halifax, NS**—Canada’s booming coastal capital! Skip the mega-city gridlock and trade it for a walkable downtown, world-class beaches just 30 minutes from the newsroom, and a relaxed Maritime pace of life*.The Indigenous Pathways Program is a 9-month, paid, full-time career launchpad designed to empower First Nations, Inuit, and Métis storytellers. From October 2026 to June 2027, you will gain specialized training in multimedia journalism—covering everything from ethics to story development—alongside immersive, hands-on work experience and dedicated career mentorship.

** Program Structure:
** Over nine months, you will engage in a guided professional journey designed to accelerate your growth as a journalist:
* October |
* Foundations:
* Immerse yourself in CBC culture, connect with your cohort, and learn the landscape of the national broadcaster.
* November–December |
* Skill Building*:
Participate in intensive training to sharpen your craft, identify core strengths, and build your personalized development roadmap.
* January–June |
* Newsroom Placement*:
Step into the field and gain real-world experience, producing impactful stories directly within a fast-paced CBC newsroom.
* March–June |
* Cultivate your craft*:
Integrate your learnings to refine your professional vision, showcase your unique voice, and explore long-term career opportunities at CBC.
** This position will be based in Halifax.

* Grow relationships with, and be supported by, mentors, trainers, peers, and Indigenous CBC colleagues
** We are looking for a candidate with the following:
*** First Nations, Inuk or Métis with a connection to an Indigenous nation or community
* Aspiring to develop a career with the CBC
* Able to provide storytelling examples and ideas
* A collaborative and principled storyteller  with strong critical thinking skills.
