Co-op: Financial Reporting

Position: Emera Inc. Co-op: Financial Reporting Role
Join Emera Inc. in Halifax, NS this Fall 2026 as a co-op student focused on Financial Reporting. Gain practical experience in consolidations and the financial reporting process within a corporate setting.

This opportunity spans 16 weeks and welcomes 3rd and 4th year students pursuing degrees in Accounting or Finance. You'll work closely with experienced professionals, enhancing your skills in financial analysis and reporting while contributing to real-world projects. You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of the finance sector and Emera's corporate structure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in producing quarterly financial statements and MD&A

• Engage in month-end consolidation activities

• Prepare intercompany reconciliations and variance reports

• Contribute to quarterly deliverables like government reports

• Support ad hoc requests for the Financial Reporting team

Requirements:

• Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of Accounting or Finance program

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point

• Previous experience in accounting is advantageous

• Self-motivated and eager to learn
