Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide site acquisition expertise to clients and/or engineering/construction personnel.
- Negotiate various types of land‑use agreements with private landowners and special interest groups.
- Communicate and deliver project information to landowners, special interest groups, and the community as a whole.
- Represent clients and Canacre in community/stakeholder meetings.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a rapid‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Review, understand and interpret legal agreements, site plans and large‑scale project layouts.
- Interpret and communicate appraisal reports to landowners.
- Negotiate damage releases for crop loss and other impacts to landowner property.
- Record detailed records of consultation daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or post‑secondary education in geography, GIS, land acquisition or real estate (asset).
- 5+ years of experience in land acquisition/real estate or right‑of‑way.
- Professional experience working on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong reporting and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to maintain insurability under the company’s insurance carrier.
- Accreditation, membership or certifications from IRWA, REIC, OREA, AIC, NAIOP (asset).
- Ability to work independently with a high level of self‑motivation.
- Committed team player.
- Valid driver’s license.

This is an hourly as‑needed role.
