Director of Financial Crime

Position: Director of Financial Crime at GoFundMe
Lead financial crime operations at Go Fund Me , the leading platform for community support. Drive transaction monitoring and investigation strategies to enhance safety across our platform.

As the Director of Financial Crime Operations, you will build and scale our first-line financial crime function, managing teams focused on transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence. Your key role will involve collaboration with Compliance, Product, and Data teams to implement risk controls, ensuring effective responses to financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Transaction Monitoring and EDD & Investigations teams

• Develop scalable operational models for financial crime detection

• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve operational effectiveness

• Create clear workflows, quality standards, and escalation processes

• Ensure effective investigative work for higher-risk customer activity

Requirements:

• 8+ years in financial crime or related fields

• Experience in fintech or regulated financial services

• Strong knowledge of AML and transaction monitoring

• Proven operational leadership and management skills

• Excellent analytical judgment and communication abilities
