The Opportunity
Reporting to the Corporate Finance Manager, the Financial Services Coordinator provides financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and corporate finance support for the organization. The position supports the development, monitoring, and analysis of annual operating and capital budgets and forecasts and assesses the financial impacts of changes in service delivery, project scope, operational requirements, and strategic initiatives.

The Financial Services Coordinator also supports corporate financial reporting, year-end financial statement preparation, audit requirements, and other corporate finance functions assigned by the Corporate Finance Manager.

Qualifications
Must Have

Degree in Business Administration or Commerce with a major in accounting plus three years' related experience.

Several years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and corporate financial management systems.

Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial analysis principles.

Knowledge of GAAP, Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), financial controls, audit requirements, and reporting processes.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in financial modelling and spreadsheet.

Nice to Have

Experience in YARDI Voyager

Professional accounting designation (CPA) or enrollment in a CPA program.

Responsibilities

Support preparation, coordination, and consolidation of annual operating and capital budgets including briefing manual for senior leadership.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts to include human resource and payroll costing, analytics and reporting.

Support review of program budget, forecast assumptions, and impacts of operational changes.

Support the administration of Federal and Provincial funding programs related to Infrastructure Funding agreements to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.

Develop financial models, scenario analyses, dashboards, and management reports.

Analyze financial trends, variances, and performance indicators and provide recommendations.

Support preparation of year-end working papers, account reconciliations, audit schedules, and financial statement support documentation.

Assist with external and internal audit requests and provide supporting analysis.

Support implementation and maintenance of financial controls, policies, procedures, and reporting standards.

Participate in corporate finance projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.

Ensure financial transactions are processed in compliance with Housing Agency policies, government regulations, and applicable accounting standards, including GAAP and PSAS.

Perform other corporate finance duties and special assignments as directed by the Corporate Finance Manager.
