Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and formalize the HR function across their dynamic organization. The successful candidate will bring both strategic capability and hands-on leadership, ensuring HR practices remain structured, compliant, and aligned with a collaborative culture.
The HR Manager will operate in a hybrid capacity—working from the head office in Halifax, remotely, and within on-site environments as needed. This is an established organization with strong existing HR processes, a supportive and engaged ownership team, and a positive, low-turnover culture, offering an excellent opportunity to shape and strengthen the HR function.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Lead and manage all HR operations for a large, multi-site workforce
- Provide trusted HR guidance to ownership and operations leadership
- Oversee recruitment strategy and workforce planning across locations
- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal employment legislation
- Support and coordinate immigration-related processes for employees
- Formalize and enhance HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives
- Assist with compensation planning and organizational structure
- Champion and sustain a positive, team-based workplace culture
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Degree/Diploma in human resources, administration, business management preferred or equivalent education, CPHR is an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist or Manager role
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices
- Experience supporting a large or multi-site workforce environment
- Hospitality, service, or high-volume operations experience preferred
- Experience with immigration processes considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal presence and relationship-building ability
- Skilled in conflict resolution and employee relations
- Able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational support
- Demonstrated cultural alignment with collaborative, team-oriented environments
