MAKING AN IMPACT

Reporting to the Vice President, Signature Programs, the Senior Manager, Next Gen Engagement is responsible for leading the development and execution of the Canadian Cancer Society’s strategy for engaging younger generations. This role ensures the organization’s meaningful connection with its target audience by delivering relevant, timely information, fostering diverse volunteer opportunities, and creating impactful fundraising initiatives. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with both fundraising and mission teams to design and implement mission activations and fundraising strategies that reflect the interests and priorities of Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Cultivate a Next Gen community and foster a sense of belonging within the Canadian Cancer Society
  • Oversee the development and execution of the Next Gen Action Council, serving as both the primary staff liaison and lead for ongoing council activities.
  • Participate in recruitment, supervision, evaluation, coaching, training and leading of the Council
  • Working with the VP, Signature Programs, the Director, Volunteer Engagement and various cross-functional partners including Finance, Digital, DAS, IT, Marketing and Communications to manage and execute program related tactics
  • Curate and collaborate on a social media strategy that interacts directly with the audience, offers shareable content, and strives to provide credible information
  • Lead ongoing reviews of existing brand platforms to ensure relevancy and resonance. Provide recommendations and tactics for engagement and implementation
  • Conceptualize and implement strategies for next gen led chapters nationwide, working directly with the Action Council to facilitate
  • Lead the development of national communication processes and tactics, ensuring clear and consistent messaging
  • Collects and analyzes data to evaluate results, identify trends, and uncover opportunities, providing recommendations on short- and long-term strategies that enhance supporter experiences, deepen their connection with CCS, and drive growth of the Next Gen strategy.
  • Collaborate with other staff teams to develop and deliver a unified approach to engaging and working with the Next Gen audience across fundraising, volunteering, advocacy and mission activities.
  • Fundraising
  • Responsible for achieving annual, programmatic fundraising goals
  • Develop and deliver growth strategies to build upon existing programs, events and fundraising opportunities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive acquisition strategy to feed the pipeline of Next Gen Engagement, Mass Marketing, Corporate Partnerships and Leadership Giving
  • Work with internal teams to develop a merchandising strategy, including a continuous review process =
  • Identify and execute opportunities to build relationships with various stakeholders, promote the program and enhance revenue opportunities nationwide
  • Monitor and evaluate trends and developments in areas of responsibility to identify new program opportunities and enhancements to grow revenue.
  • Develop and monitor the department budget in conjunction with the Vice President of Signature Programs.
