Become the lead for dam safety at Nova Scotia Power in Lakeside, NS. This role will focus on strategic safety initiatives and risk management across dam infrastructure.
As the Dam Safety Lead, you will be responsible for developing and executing safety protocols within the Hydro, Wind & Solar department. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will ensure risks related to dams are effectively identified and mitigated. This full-time position emphasizes stakeholder engagement and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish a dedicated and skilled Dam Safety Team
• Monitor compliance with budget and governance requirements
• Oversee dam safety inspections and assessments
• Cultivate relationships with contractors and government entities
• Maintain emergency preparedness and respond to crises
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 8 years in senior management roles
• Familiarity with dam safety practices and guidelines
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license; travel required
