Salary: $118,400+ base (actual base pay depends on experience and skills). Target bonus: $41,440. This role may also be eligible for discretionary long‑term incentive awards. Marketing and variable compensation are contingent on individual performance and overall business results.
Location & Structure
Halifax, 5 days per week in office.
Role Summary
As Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs – Atlantic, you will provide broad support across the Atlantic region in government relations, public affairs, and communications. You will advance the organization’s interests in Atlantic Canada and protect its corporate reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead government relations efforts across all four Atlantic provinces, focusing on regulatory aspects and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Build and maintain relationships with key government stakeholders and regulatory bodies to advance the company’s interests.
Monitor and analyze regulatory developments and provide strategic advice to senior leadership.
Contribute to strategic planning for communications and issue management; tailor national strategies to regional needs.
Support the execution of regional commercial communications programs and campaigns that strengthen brand profile and business objectives.
Coordinate external communications programs, media plans, and issue‑management efforts.
Ensure effective execution of public affairs and internal and external communications to support local initiatives.
Develop corporate positioning that strengthens the company’s reputation and builds public support.
Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree in political science, communications or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate affairs, communications, or government relations, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships.
Senior-level government experience at federal or provincial level.
Strong understanding of media relations and crisis management.
Excellent strategic thinking, writing, and communication skills; ability to craft compelling messages and manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, media, and community partners.
Ability to provide innovative solutions and adapt to changing circumstances.
