The Role
Service Manager – Atlantic Region  is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall performance, safety, and regulatory compliance of Avenir Energy’s service operations across Atlantic Canada. This role provides direct leadership to Gasfitter A and Gasfitter B technicians, ensuring consistent technical standards, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service across multiple branches and jurisdictions.

The Service Manager plays a critical role in aligning field service operations with corporate objectives while maintaining full compliance with provincial regulators and industry codes.

Location:

Candidates should be based in HRM, Truro, Stellarton, or nearby areas.

What You’ll Do

Provide leadership, coaching, and technical oversight to Gasfitter A and B technicians across the Atlantic region

Oversee day‑to‑day service operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of service and installation work

Ensure adherence to all applicable provincial codes, regulations, and safety authority requirements across Atlantic Canada

Manage staffing, scheduling, on‑call rotations, performance management, and employee development

Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and regional communications to reinforce Avenir’s safety‑first culture

Monitor operational KPIs, service performance metrics, and productivity targets, implementing continuous improvement initiatives

Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, customer concerns, and service‑related complaints

Lead investigations into service incidents and near misses, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented

Oversee service equipment, tools, fleet coordination, inventory controls, and required reporting

Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Safety, and Supply teams to align service delivery with business objectives

Support audits, inspections, and interactions with provincial regulators and external stakeholders

Travel regularly throughout Atlantic Canada to support branches, technicians, and operational needs

What You Bring

Gasfitter A certification

Proven experience leading and supervising regulated technical trades (Gas fitters, Service Technicians, or similar)

Strong working knowledge of propane systems, service operations, and installation practices

Demonstrated understanding of industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions

Minimum  5+ years of progressive leadership or operations experience  in propane, energy, HVAC, or a related technical field

Strong leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills

Ability to manage performance, coach teams, and build a strong safety culture

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with service management systems or KPIs is an asset

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the Atlantic region (up to ~50%)

Working Conditions

Exposure to varying weather conditions and industrial environments

Regional travel required across Atlantic Canada
