Job SummaryThe Director, Regional Banking supports the Senior Vice President (SVP) and Regional Vice President (RVP) in the day‑to‑day operation of the region and acts on their behalf in their absence. The role implements business line strategies, facilitates product and delivery issues, and provides direct support to the network.
Responsibilities- Support design and development of short and medium‑term initiatives to position the bank within the market and achieve business objectives.
- Research and gather competitive intelligence and market positioning data.
- Conduct key analyses and develop proposals for significant market issues.
- Review and provide feedback on proposals from Districts and recommend to SVP.
- Tailor Domestic Banking proposals to meet regional needs.
- Direct implementation of initiatives/projects, ensuring clear communication materials and participation of key internal partners.
- Coordinate activities and liaise with team members to meet deadlines and funding parameters.
- Provide comprehensive analysis of proposals, business cases, profit and goal plans to support SVP/RVP.
- Review project proposals for applicability, timing and funding; document findings; research variances.
- Update SVP/RVP on trends and recommend tactical responses; support compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Provide direction, guidance and advice to senior team members, customers and partners.
- Monitor results through review, analysis and trending of reports; coordinate corrective actions to audit findings.
- Thorough knowledge of Canada’s financial services marketplace and regional market areas.
- Deep understanding of Domestic Bank objectives, strategies and structures.
- Proven success as a Branch Manager.
- Strong analytical, planning, execution and organizational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain business relationships, negotiate, influence and persuade.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate to all levels within the bank.
- Proficiency in PC tools – word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and planning software.
- Expert knowledge of Retail & Business Banking products and services, branch systems (Sales Builder, Intralink, RIS), and sales channel delivery.
- Understanding of competitors and support areas such as Shared Services.
