The John Howard Society of Nova Scotia is inviting committed individuals to join its volunteer Board of Directors. Board members will be essential in providing leadership and oversight that supports advocacy efforts for marginalized communities. A strong commitment to social justice and effective governance is desired for applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic oversight for JHSNS initiatives
• Ensure strong governance and accountability
• Advocate for effective justice policies
• Cultivate a respectful collaborative Board environment
Requirements:
• Professional experience in strategic decision-making
• Strong advocacy for social justice and community equity
• Insight into systemic issues faced by underrepresented groups
• Governance-level participation required
• Diverse perspectives and lived experiences are valued
Contribute to meaningful change at JHSNS and strengthen communities across Nova Scotia.
