I n the Philippines, the CECI’s Volunteer Cooperation Program advances women’s economic empowerment in key sectors such as the green economy, rural agriculture, and the blue economy. This is achieved by working alongside partners to strengthen women and youth-led SMEs, cooperatives and social enterprises in sustainable agricultural value-chains. Through collaboration with Canadian volunteers and partners, the program enhances access to accelerators, innovation, finance, markets as well as gender inclusive and climate-resilient practices.

Working with leading ecosystem partners, the program pursues to enable women and young agri-entrepreneurs into competitive, trade-oriented value chains to scale and contribute to more resilient businesses, inclusive, and sustainable economies, benefit ting the wider communities

Functions

Provide strategic and technical guidance on research, knowledge management, and communications to strengthen evidence-based cooperative development.

Support the documentation of the socio-economic, environmental, and organizational impacts of cooperative initiatives through research, case studies, outcome stories, Most Significant Change (MSC) stories, and other learning products.

Advise on the collection, synthesis, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative evidence to demonstrate the contributions of cooperative development to member and community well-being.

Develop and review knowledge products, including impact reports, policy briefs, research papers, learning notes, technical publications, and communication materials.

Translate research findings and impact evidence into compelling stories and communication products tailored to members, partners, policymakers, donors, and the public.

Facilitate learning, reflection, and knowledge-sharing activities that promote adaptive management, peer learning, and continuous improvement across member cooperatives.

Mentor staff and volunteers on research methods, documentation, storytelling, knowledge management, and strategic communications.

Systematically integrate gender equality, human rights, and diversity approaches into all activities, ensuring the participation and representation of women and young women throughout all initiatives.

Integrate environmental issues and climate change adaptation in all activities.

Make sure to respect, at all times, the organization's guides, manuals, guidelines or instructions related to security and safety.

Participate in communication activities designed to share your volunteering experience with those around you and raise awareness of international solidarity issues which may include a fundraising activity.

Complete a weekly time sheet and send it to the person responsible at CECI Montreal.

Write the reports required by the partner organization and the CECI program.

Required skills

Bachelor's degree in communications, development studies, social sciences, journalism, knowledge management, or related fields.

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in research, knowledge management, communications, or impact documentation.

Demonstrated experience in outcome mapping, organizational learning, impact evaluation, or documenting development outcomes.

Experience producing research publications, case studies, impact stories, policy briefs, or knowledge of products.

Experience documenting development outcomes through case studies, outcome stories, Most Significant Change (MSC), or other evidence-based storytelling methodologies.

Excellent technical writing in English, editing, and storytelling skills for diverse audiences.

Familiarity with digital communications, content management, and multimedia storytelling is an advantage.
