Kitchen Support at Upward Mobility

Join Upward Mobility Kitchens in Halifax as a full-time Dish and Kitchen Support, focusing on large-scale meal preparation and kitchen organization. Your efforts will directly impact community food initiatives through meal delivery.

This in-person role is scheduled for Sundays from 10am-8pm and Monday-Thursday from 2pm-8pm. You'll start by supporting food preparation tasks, learning our kitchen systems and how we serve the community through the School Lunch Program. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in teamwork and are keen on contributing to a positive kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation and meal plating tasks

• Support kitchen setup and thorough cleaning processes

• Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations

• Proactively handle tasks and communicate any issues

• Collaborate effectively with team members during peak hours

Requirements:

• Valid Food Safety Certification or complete training

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a high-pace kitchen

• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 40kg

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Good communication skills in English
