Become a vital part of the kitchen staff at Nova Scotia Health as a Journeyman Cook. This permanent part-time position supports high-quality meal preparation for health and wellness.
Your role involves preparing meals based on standardized recipes for patients at the Camp Hill Veterans’ Memorial Building, with a future transition to Dartmouth General Hospital. You will play a key role in ensuring food safety, quality, and customer service, along with your skills in baking being an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare meals for patients using standardized methods
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in food preparation areas
• Offer made-to-order options for veterans' meals
• Engage positively with team members and patients
• Support food preparation for multiple hospital locations
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education required
• 1 year of cooking experience preferred
• Baking abilities preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• French language skills considered beneficial
