Position Summary

Carpenters at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state Carpenters or Multi-Skilled Tradespeople use the skills of carpenters, drywallers and painters! • Salary Range: $30-$32/hour
• Overtime opportunities (where applicable)

• Finishing work and fine details, rough and trim
• Installation, doors, trim, moldings, baseboards and hardware
• Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
• Drywall repairs, mudding, sanding, taping and finishing
• Brush and roller painting (could include walls, ceilings, trim)
• Ceiling installation, knockdown and texturing
• Insulation and vapour barrier installation
• Cabinetry (removal, repair, reinstallation)
• Flooring installation and repairs
• Framing

• 10+ years doing interior carpentry repairs/restoration
• Experience with drywalling, painting, flooring, framing
• Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
• Tools and the skills to use them
• Strong people and communication skills
• A safety mindset
• Willingness to cross train into other departments
• Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
• Skilled trades ticket (Carpenter, Painter, Cabinetmaker)
• IICRC certification (restoration focus)
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to pass a criminal record check
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
