Valard Construction is seeking a skilled Field Journeyman Electrician to support substation projects in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This field-based role specializes in medium and high voltage electrical systems.
Reporting to the Substation Construction Foreman, you'll be instrumental in constructing and commissioning vital electrical components that enhance power grid reliability and support renewable energy initiatives.
Your role will involve leading electrical installations and ensuring compliance with all safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee construction of electrical systems in substations
• Install and commission medium/high voltage transformers
• Manage cable installations and ensure accurate terminations
• Maintain daily project documentation and safety oversight
• Collaborate closely with the Safety Advisor to address concerns
Requirements:
• Minimum of 4 years experience in construction
• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification required
• Knowledge of safety regulations and construction quality control
• Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record
