As a Roofer Helper, you will support the roofing crew with the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems.

Your role includes preparing materials and tools, moving supplies to work areas, assisting roofers during tear‑offs and installations, and keeping the jobsite clean and organized. The ideal candidate is dependable, works well in a team, and is comfortable performing physical work outdoors. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety are essential.

Experience with hand and power tools, basic knowledge of roofing materials, and exposure to solar‑ready or solar‑integrated roofing work are considered assets.

Job Responsibilities   Assist the roofing team with jobsite setup, including ladders, access routes, fall‑protection basics, and organizing tools/materials for the day.
Carry and distribute roofing supplies (shingles, membranes/underlayment, flashing, vents, fasteners) to the roof and staging areas as directed.
Support installation and repairs by preparing materials, cutting/positioning components, and passing tools to roofers to keep work flowing efficiently.
Help apply and tidy roofing materials such as sealants and adhesives; maintain clean work edges and prevent material waste.
Remove old roofing layers during tear‑offs, collect debris, bundle waste, and keep the ground area safe and clear for crew and customers.
Operate basic jobsite equipment under supervision (air tools, compressor, generator) and complete routine checks like hose connections and safe cord placement.
Perform end‑of‑day cleanup, including nail pickup, tarping, tool inventory, and securing materials against weather.
Follow company safety requirements and report hazards (slippery surfaces, weak decking areas, unstable ladders) to the lead roofer/foreman.
Experience   Previous experience as construction labourer/roofer helper preferred.
On‑the‑job training will be provided.

Driving Licence (can drive trailer)
Education  Completion of secondary school preferred but not required.
Skills   Forklift operation
Fast‑paced environment, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, repetitive tasks, working under pressure.
Hand‑eye coordination
