Join Dalhousie University as an Instrument Technician focused on HVAC systems. This role is key to managing campus controls and optimizing energy use.
As the Instrument Technician, you will oversee the configuration, installation, and programming of HVAC control systems under the Utilities Manager's guidance.
Your role involves five years of hands-on experience with ventilation equipment, ensuring efficiency and adhering to safety regulations. You will also participate actively in preventive maintenance and assist with upgrading existing systems, enhancing campus operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Calibrate and service ventilation controls and sensors
• Program building automation systems for efficiency
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards
• Collaborate with tradespersons during projects
• Keep work environment organized and clean
Requirements:
• Instrumentation Control Technician certification with Red Seal
• Recent journey person experience in HVAC maintenance
• Proficient with Direct Digital Controls
• Ability to understand technical schematics
• Punctual and reliable with strong communication skills
