Job Summary

A Steel Stud Framer is responsible for installing framing for commercial and industrial buildings. Metal Stud Framers require a strong understanding of blueprint reading and experience with hand and power tools.

Primary responsibilities include installing metal studs used to create the framework for walls in commercial and industrial buildings. Steel Stud Framers use hand tools, power tools, and various equipment to complete their work.

• Read and understand blueprints.
• Prepare, configure, and assemble required tools—including ladders, measuring tapes, hammer drill machines, and straightedges.
• Mark and cut metal studs based on blueprints.
• Draw chalk lines on metal frames to level them.
• Comply with relevant regulatory practices related to construction projects and safety requirements.
• Assemble metal stud framing and attach metal frames with preconfigured horizontal and vertical wallboards.
• Carry construction materials and metal stud frames within the construction site and assist forklift operators with transportation.
• Install metal stud framing.
• Inspect completed work and verify it with the design and blueprint.
• Prepare small openings in the metal frames with drilling tools to make space for electric lines and outlets.
• Supervise relevant construction workers.
• Use fastening tools such as screws, nails, studs, and connectors.
• Install decorative trim for windows, doors, walkways, and other locations.
• Report everyday progress to construction supervisors or asset owners.
• Inspect the quality of the procured metal stud frames if needed.

• Experience:
  
  1‑2 years of Rough Carpenter experience.
• Steel Stud Framing: 2 years (required).
• Hand tools required.

Pay-Scale: $22.00‑$32.00 per hour, 35‑50 hours per week.
