Structured Wiring Technician

Join Vista Care Communications in Halifax as a Structured Wiring Technician. This full-time position involves installing, repairing, and upgrading cable systems across various sites.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Structured Wiring Technician for our Halifax operations. This role entails maintaining cable systems, running new cabling in buildings, and ensuring the termination and testing of new cables. You will work both independently and as part of a team, and the job may require occasional out-of-town travel with paid accommodations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cable systems with installation and repair tasks

• Run cabling in new or existing buildings as needed

• Terminate and test new cabling for quality assurance

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot cabling issues

• Assist in the setup of new telecommunications frames

Requirements:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract

• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed

• Experience with Structured Wiring and fibre optic splicing preferred

• Strong manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment

• Ability to work under various weather conditions
