Join the field of electronics as a Weapons Engineering Technician, ensuring the smooth operation of weapons and communication systems on naval vessels. Engage in both troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
This role involves extensive interaction with electronic systems found on ships, primarily home-ported in Halifax, Nova Scotia or Esquimalt, British Columbia. Responsibilities include not just maintenance but also operating diagnostic tools and compiling performance documentation. Technicians work on a rotating shift system, dealing with the unique challenges of ship life.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and assess electronic equipment performance
• Utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues
• Analyze and repair system faults effectively
• Maintain, inspect, and install electronic components
• Document maintenance procedures and evaluations properly
Requirements:
• High school completion:
Grade 10 or Secondary 4
• Applied math education and physics knowledge beneficial
• A college diploma or Red Seal in a related field is preferred
• Experience working with electronic systems
• Capability to adapt to shipboard living conditions
