General Labourer - Maintenance

GFL Environmental is looking for a hardworking and reliable General Laborer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing a variety of physical tasks to support daily operations. Responsibilities include site maintenance, equipment support, and assisting skilled trades or operators as needed.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by removing debris, sweeping, and pressure washing.
• Perform basic cleaning and preventative maintenance on tractor‑trailers.
• Operate general site vehicles such as pickup trucks.
• Work in strict accordance with company safety policies and provincial/federal health and safety regulations.
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance, including painting, janitorial tasks, and basic office repairs.
• Load, unload, and move materials manually or with the assistance of basic tools.
• Cross‑train to assist with parts and service coverage.
• Provide general support to senior staff and perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure project deadlines are met.

• Experience operating a skid steer or similar small machinery is considered a strong asset.
• Ability to manually lift and move up to 65 lbs regularly; ability to push or move up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and standing for long periods.
• Strong work ethic, punctual, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
• Problem‑solving skills—application of common‑sense reasoning to carry out instructions and solve practical problems.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labour.
