Become a Building Controls Technician at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. Focus on HVAC systems, maintenance, and optimizing energy management across educational buildings.
As part of HRCE, the Building Controls Technician will perform vital tasks including installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of energy management systems.
Your role ensures operational excellence in HVAC controls, utilizing your technical skills while contributing to a sustainable education environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain HVAC and energy management systems
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic and pneumatic systems
• Regularly conduct preventive maintenance to optimize functions
• Monitor and respond to system alarms efficiently
• Collaborate with on-duty maintenance supervisors for system integrity
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in relevant building controls trade
• Experience with building automation systems, especially BACNet
• Valid Nova Scotia driver’s license
• Physical capability for maintenance tasks
