EQUANS are looking for an Apprentice Decorator working on our Calderdale Royal Hospital contract in Halifax. This role would be a permanent role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General OverviewThis apprenticeship offers a hands‑on role focused on the painting and decorating. You will work proactively to ensure all tasks are carried out in line with relevant standards and operational procedures to support the safe and efficient running of the site. The primary place of work will be Calderdale Royal Hospital, where you will gain practical, on‑the‑job experience. Alongside this, you will attend college to obtain a qualification in painting & decorating.
MainResponsibilities
- Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory, NHS, Trust and Company guidelines.
- Ensure that there is minimum disruption to the wards and departments whilst carrying out work.
- Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
- Collaborate and co‑operate with the Trust, partners, and colleagues to deliver a customer‑focused service.
- Demonstrate flexibility in undertaking tasks with other trades and contractors.
- Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand, and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers' guidelines.
- Maintain records as appropriate.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake training where necessary to learn other skills and to maintain and develop the requirements of the service.
- Liaise and undertake duties at other EQUANS‑managed projects as directed.
- Apprentices must be aged 16 or over.
- The applicant must have 4 GCSEs grades 9‑4 (A‑C).
- You must have achieved a grade 3 or above in both English and maths for this apprenticeship.
