Planning & Zoning Manager
Performs a variety of supervisory, administrative, technical, and professional work in the current planning and zoning as well as the long-range planning programs related to the development and implementation of land use and related municipal plans and policies. Position also focuses on managing, coaching, and developing other people. Position requires extensive depth of expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization's business strategies.
Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning or related field. Master's Degree preferred. Four (4) or more years planning and zoning experience, including at least three years of supervisory or management experience or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment.
Must have American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation as a certified planner. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
