Assistant Director Of Public Works/Utilities
Under general administrative direction, plans, directs, manages, and oversees the functions, programs, and operations of the Operations Division to include the divisions of water production, water distribution, stormwater and wastewater, streets, construction, grounds and custodial. Coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the department Director, Deputy City Manager and City Manager.
Primarily focused on managing, coaching, and developing other people. Position requires extensive expertise and knowledge in specialized functions or business areas that can be used to develop policies and procedures as well as determining efficient and innovative ways to accomplish the organization's business strategies.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, or related field. Eight (8) or more years' utilities experience, including at least three years of supervisory or management experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements) or obtain within one year of employment. Professional Engineer certification is preferred. Must have a valid Florida driver's license and maintain satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
