Position SummaryWe’re looking for a sharp, analytical Estimator (In-Office) with experience in sheet metal ductwork and commercial HVAC to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive bids by analyzing drawings, specs, and scopes of work. This position is fully in-office
, with minimal travel and high impact—you’ll help us win the right jobs, at the right price, with the right plan.
- Review architectural and mechanical drawings, specs, and bid documents to determine project scope
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for ductwork, HVAC systems, and related materials
- Solicit pricing from vendors and subcontractors; evaluate and compare quotes
- Develop labor and material cost estimates based on project requirements
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accuracy and constructability
- Prepare complete bid proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for negotiated and hard‑bid projects
- Participate in bid reviews and handoff meetings
- Maintain organized bid tracking logs and historical cost data
- Communicate clearly with general contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Stay current on market conditions, labor rates, and material pricing trends
- 2+ years of experience estimating HVAC or sheet metal ductwork projects (commercial preferred)
- Strong knowledge of construction documents and mechanical systems
- Detail-oriented with strong math and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Experience with Procore
, Bluebeam, or estimating software (like FastDUCT, Quote Soft, EST MEP or Trimble) - Familiarity with local subcontractor market and pricing
- Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
