The salary range for this position is $28.10 per hour for Refrigeration 01 to $40.15 per hour for Refrigeration 08, including a shift increase for second and third shift and overtime. Salary is based on individual knowledge and experience. This role is open to current employees of the facility only; prior employment at Tyson Foods requires a 90‑day rehire waiting period and limits to three total employment periods.

The Person is directly involved with the operation and maintenance of the support systems for a manufacturing facility, including the Ammonia Refrigeration System, Compressed Air System and Steam System and all related sub‑systems. The Person is trained as a member of the facility’s Hazmat Response Team and must meet the physical requirements to serve on that team.

• Operate and maintain ammonia for refrigeration and perform routine preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment.
• Make repairs as required to maintain proper food temperatures according to USDA and company standards.
• Maintain ammonia evaporators and their control stations to ensure adequate temperatures in specific areas.
• Maintain ammonia condensers to ensure efficiency and that liquid levels in the ammonia vessels remain at the required points to complete the refrigeration cycle.
• Maintain boilers and steam controls to facilitate processing, cooking and sanitation processes based on USDA and production requirements.
• Conduct chemical testing to maintain appropriate levels in the water for optimum equipment performance and to prevent scaling of the tubes.
• Maintain ammonia vessels and liquid pumps to supply ammonia or oil or both to ensure required temperatures are achieved per USDA and company production standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Demonstrate flexibility regarding work hours and schedule; overtime required.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with ammonia or mechanical work, or completion of a refrigeration/industrial maintenance training program.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, walk, climb, and stoop.
• Experience with repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
• Basic math skills: percentages, fractions, and measurements.
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
• Position requires Lock‑Out Tag‑Out certification and personal protective equipment.
• Frequent overhead work in temperature ranges of 40–75° F.
• Electrical experience preferred.
• This position is for current team members of the facility only.
