Our client, a private equity-backed portfolio company, is seeking a Senior SEC Reporting professional to lead the preparation of external financial reporting and support technical accounting initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Controller, this individual will play a key role in the quarterly and annual reporting process, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP while partnering with finance leadership during the company's continued growth.

Responsibilities- Lead the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, proxy statements, and other required filings.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Coordinate the quarterly and annual reporting calendar to ensure timely filing deadlines are met.
- Research and document technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, debt modifications, stock compensation, goodwill, and impairment analyses.
- Assist with purchase accounting and accounting for acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
- Partner with FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations to gather information supporting external reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards and evolving SEC reporting requirements.
- Support SOX compliance initiatives and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.
- Review XBRL tagging and assist with SEC filing software as needed.
- Prepare audit committee and executive management reporting materials.
- Participate in special projects, including refinancing transactions, debt offerings, IPO readiness initiatives, and process improvement efforts.
- CPA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or national accounting firm is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing or auditing SEC filings for publicly traded companies.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Experience with business combinations and purchase accounting is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working in a public company or private equity‑backed organization is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Big 4 audit or assurance experience serving SEC registrants.
- Combination of public accounting and industry experience.
