Senior Accountant
Our client, a growing healthcare organization, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations, financial reporting, and month‑end close activities. This role offers the opportunity to work in a mission‑driven environment while contributing to the financial integrity and operational success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards
- Support preparation of financial statements, budgets, and audit schedules
- Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies or variances as needed
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions
- Partner cross‑functionally with internal departments to support financial operations and reporting needs
- Support annual audit processes and provide documentation to external auditors
- Help identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within healthcare, nonprofit, or mission‑driven organizations
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with month‑end close and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP platforms
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
- Experience supporting audits and compliance reporting
- Knowledge of fund accounting or healthcare‑related financial reporting is a plus
