Appointments may be structured to align with the candidate’s teaching profile and institutional needs, including tenure‑track or other full‑time models that combine legal writing and doctrinal instruction. All faculty positions are full‑time and based on the North Haven campus, with an expectation of in‑person teaching and engagement in the academic community.
Responsibilities- Teach Legal Research and Writing and/or other skills-based courses, along with one or more foundational or upper‑level doctrinal courses, in a primarily in‑person teaching environment
- Advise and mentor students and evaluate student performance
- Produce and publish legal scholarship
- Engage with the bench, bar, and law‑related service organizations
- Participate in faculty governance and law school administration
- Contribute to the School’s bar passage, academic excellence, and licensure initiatives, as appropriate to the candidate’s teaching role
- Juris Doctorate required
- Excellent academic record
- Record of, or demonstrated potential for, outstanding teaching and scholarly achievement
- Interest in, or demonstrated capacity for, teaching both legal writing and doctrinal courses is strongly preferred
- Prior law school teaching experience is preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to contribute to a collaborative, student‑centered academic environment
- Some prior exposure to legal practice, such as employment, clinical work, or judicial clerkship
- Commitment to contribute to the intellectual vitality, diversity, and excellence of the academic community
