Assistant Coach, Men's Cross Country & Track

Overview:
Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics invites applications for an Assistant Coach, Men's Cross Country to assist in program management including coaching, recruitment and coordination of a collegiate Division I Men’s Cross Country Program. This is a part‑time, non‑benefits‑eligible position.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all University, NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
  • Coach student‑athletes, maintaining a safe and challenging environment that develops their physical, mental, and personal abilities.
  • Administer and manage all phases of a competitive Division I Men’s Cross Country Program.
  • Assist with recruiting (on and off campus as assigned).
  • Assist in the future development of Men’s Cross Country alumni and community relations.
  • Assist the Head Coach with daily/weekly/seasonal practice planning.
  • Weekend travel and supervision.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience may substitute for some of the above education requirements.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to run a practice with necessary cross country runner knowledge and skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the University community.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass NCAA recruiting certification test.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and video editing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, student‑athletes and potential recruits and their families.
  • Excellent communication, written and oral skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to NCAA Division I guidelines and regulations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
