Youth Summer Academic Program Counselor
Assist summer program faculty and instructors to academically support student engagement and success in the program within the classroom setting. Help set-up and clean up learning environments and activities. Assist with one to one and small group discussions. Assist in the preparation and implementation of program activities. Ensure that participants are properly supervised at all times. Participate in all program activities.
Set a good example to participants and other staff regarding general program procedures and practices. Ensure positive attitude, behavior and interaction with participants and staff. Be alert to equipment and facilities to ensure proper use, care, and maintenance is adhered to; report repairs needed promptly to lead counselor or program director. Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures.
Know and understand all emergency procedures and safety guidelines associated with the camp program. Alert first aid staff and other personnel of any medical issues.
Must be 18+ years old. Have earned an Associate's degree or be a full or part-time student within your junior year of pursuing an undergraduate bachelor's degree. First Aid Certification (preferred, but not required). CPR Certification (preferred, but not required). Prior youth camp or summer camp counselor experience (Preferred). Good interpersonal skills.
$575 weekly compensation stipend. Full Time Temporary Seasonal (35 hrs. per week, on select weeks). Working hours are Monday through Friday (weekdays) between 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Room and board offered upon request (single room accommodation & meals).
