Director of Environmental Services Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Director of Environmental Services to join our team at Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the Maintenance Department's programs and activities to ensure a safe and clean environment for our residents and staff.
Responsibilities:- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities
- Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures
- Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
- Review the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator
- Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.)
- Make written or oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department
- Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a maintenance position
- Nursing home experience required
- HVAC certification strongly preferred
- Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
