CompensationOverview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?Travelers offers the strength of a national legal organization committed to your professional development while maintaining a local focus. As a Law Office Administrator you will be responsible for managing and developing support staff for assigned law office(s) as well as the operation of the office(s). May support one or more attorneys, including the Managing Counsel. You will coach, mentor and facilitate development of support staff to maximize individual and office performance.
Evaluate and manage performance objectives relative to quality, productivity and other office standards/goals as well as providing individual and team feedback on an ongoing basis. You will implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Staff Counsel/Claim Legal guidelines, policies and best practices.
- Recruit, Manage and Develop Support Staff:
- Hire, train & on-board staff on office procedures, policies, and job expectations
- Prioritize and allocate support staff resources to meet the business needs of the law office
- Manage the quality and efficiency of support staff performance and effectively coach and develop support staff through mentoring, cross training and identifying development opportunities.
- Office Administration:
- Accountable for training and driving utilization of technology to ensure smooth workflow efficiency.
- Support implementation of new workflow processes/procedures and vendor products/services within assigned office(s).
- Ensure office supplies are adequate, and equipment is fully operational.
- Oversee the maintenance and modifications of legal forms and templates, standardization of templates (letters, forms, pleadings).
- Information Management, Financial Reporting and Compliance Support :
- Oversee appropriate usage of case management system by staff to ensure data integrity and compliance with Staff Counsel/Claim Legal guidelines, policies and best practices.
- Manage office finance administration, ensure compliance with company and Staff Counsel/Claim Legal financial policies.
- Assist office leadership team with utilization, analysis and completion of reports, such as monthly management information reports as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- This position will require traveling to other office locations:
Hartford, CT and Hamden, CT. - 5+ years of prior experience as a legal assistant or other legal support professional.
- 2+ years direct management experience in a law office or corporate law office experience.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Expert knowledge of law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel as well as usage of a case management system and other software applications.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to lead change and influence others (including leaders) within and across offices.
- Strong project management skills.
- 5 years of prior experience as a legal assistant or other legal support professional.
