Position Details:

Hartford Health Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a College Health position in Hamden, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in adolescent health.

Role:
Open to Nurse Practitioners (APRN, FNP, ANP, AGNP) and Physician Assistants (PA)

Location:
Hamden, CT

Setting: 100% outpatient, college-based healthcare

Schedule:The ideal candidate must be available to provide coverage on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, which are the primary coverage needs for this role. Additional opportunities for coverage throughout the week and weekends. Flexibility to work occasional additional shifts based on operational needs is preferred.

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Role Scope:

Under established guidelines and in collaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s), Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants perform routine physical examinations, and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.

In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health team members or specialists.

Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the providers practice as designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of their scope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensure:
    Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
  • Training: APRN (Family, Pediatric, Adult/Geri Nurse Practitioner) or PA
  • Experience:

    At least two years of post-graduate experience as a Nurse Practitioners (APRN) or Physician Assistants (PA)

Preferred but not required:

  • Allergy Immunotherapy experience
  • Phlebotomy/Venipuncture experience
