What We re Looking For
GNC's Store Manager in Training (SMIT) position is a development focused role that is crafted to prepare an individual to manage their own store. Under the leadership of a Store Manager or District Manager, this hands-on program will teach you the skills and knowledge needed to successfully operate your own store, drive for results, and develop and lead your team.

What You ll DoThis is a Full-Time Hourly Supervisory Position.
- Engage with your leader in training initiatives, projects, and goals to support your path to promotion.
- Support the total shopping experience, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the customer relationship that leads to sales and repeat business (e.g., MYGNC Rewards).
- Achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals while helping sales associates realize their sales potential.
- Build strong teams and demonstrate leadership and managerial skills, including giving ongoing feedback, recruiting, hiring, and performance management.
- Open, close, and operate the retail facility, including cash handling, inventory count, and deposits according to GNC procedures.
- Attend community fairs, conferences, meetings, and other public gatherings to promote the organization s mission and initiatives.
Selection for the SMIT position does not guarantee promotion. At the end of 90 days, performance will be evaluated for eligibility for promotion to a Store Manager.
Environmental Factors & Working Schedule- Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and twisting below the waist and above shoulders.
- Frequent use of repetitive hand-to-finger motions and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequent lifting up to twenty pounds, occasionally up to forty pounds; push/pull up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders, reach and bend.
- Work in temperatures ranging from 50 to 85 degrees, especially in the stock room.
- Use of a computer up to 60 percent of the time throughout the day.
SMITs are expected to work five days a week (40 hours) with the following requirements:
- For mall and strip-center stores: at least two nights during the week until closing, one weekend night, and one other night.
- Strip-center SMITs must also work a full shift on Saturdays.
- Mall SMITs: work peak business days including weekends (Saturday & Sunday).
- SMITs: minimum of one full Sunday per month.
- Downtown SMITs: work during lunch hour 11 a.m.
-2 p.m. Monday-Friday and one night per week until closing if the store is open in the evening; not required to work Saturdays. - SMITs: work all major U.S. holidays that the store is open.
