Indigenous Relations Lead

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for an Indigenous Relations Lead in the pipeline industry. The position is located in Waterdown, Ontario and operates in a hybrid work environment.

Job Overview

As Indigenous Relations Lead, you will liaise with diverse stakeholders including Southern Ontario First Nations, preparing and delivering briefing materials and presentations tailored to various audiences both internally and externally. You will provide on‑site field representation at various sites across Southern Ontario and travel frequently along the pipeline and to communities throughout Ontario.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver briefing materials and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the company on site at various locations across Southern Ontario.
  • Build constructive relationships between the company and Nations with land interests in Southern Ontario.
  • Co‑lead formal consultation processes and maintain all agreements and memorandums of understanding.
  • Coordinate archaeological assessments to support the Indigenous Relations program and the execution of planned pipeline work, including coordinating consultants, managing various AA projects in different stages, and reviewing reports.
  • Log and coordinate archaeological reports.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in emergency management within the energy sector (oil & gas, natural gas liquids, downstream).
  • 5+ years of experience in Indigenous Relations.
  • Preferred:
    Indigenous Studies, Law, or Environmental Science.
  • Detailed knowledge of emergency preparedness.
  • Excellent presentation delivery skills and ability to navigate challenging conversations and complex information.
  • Experience developing policies and procedures related to public and industrial safety and emergency management.
  • Certified in IMS/ICS 300.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
