Finance Consultant, Financial Compliance

Our client is looking for a Finance Consultant for a 6‑month contract.

3 days in office located in Hamilton

Our client is bringing their AR/invoicing processes in‑house from a third‑party provider and requires an experienced contractor to support the transition. This is a hands‑on, technical role focused on user acceptance testing (UAT), bill validation, and discrepancy resolution during the migration and go‑live phases.

• Execute comprehensive user acceptance testing for new AR/invoicing system
• Develop and document test cases and scenarios
• Identify, track, and resolve system defects and issues
• Validate data accuracy and system functionality against business requirements
• Coordinate with IT and vendor teams on testing cycles

• Review and validate invoicing accuracy and completeness
• Perform detailed reconciliation between old and new systems
• Ensure proper invoice formatting, coding, and routing
• Test automated billing workflows and approval processes
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and data inconsistencies
• Document root causes and implement corrective measures
• Work with stakeholders to establish exception handling procedures
• Create process documentation for ongoing operations

• Support data migration from third‑party system to in‑house platform
• Validate converted data integrity and completeness
• Assist with data cleansing and standardization efforts

• 3-5 years accounts receivable or billing operations experience
• Strong UAT testing experience, preferably with financial systems
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Experience with system implementations and data conversions
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration

• Experience transitioning processes from outsourced to in‑house operations
• Background in process improvement and documentation
• Project management or change management experience
