Chief Investment Officer

Position: Chief Investment Officer City
Shape the investment strategy for the City of Hamilton as the Chief Investment Officer. Drive investment management, portfolio strategies, and institutional relationship building in this critical leadership role.

As Chief Investment Officer, report directly to the Director of Financial Services while overseeing the City's investment and borrowing operations. You will be responsible for managing City Funds, Trusts, and Pension portfolios, establishing corporate investment policies, and providing critical market analysis. This pivotal position involves stakeholder collaboration, ensuring compliance, and mentoring a skilled team in financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage overall investment and borrowing programs

• Develop corporate investment strategies and procedures

• Review and evaluate security and investment opportunities

• Lead negotiations on debenture issuance agreements

• Report investment performance to leadership and council

Requirements:

• University Degree in Finance or Economics

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation

• Minimum 10 years of investment management experience

• Proven expertise in debt issuance and investment strategies

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
