Position: Financial Analyst: City Role
Shape the future of Hamilton as a Financial Assistant I, specializing in financial reporting and budget management. This role is integral to supporting effective public service delivery.

As a Financial Assistant I reporting to the Business Administrator at the City of Hamilton, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions. Your expertise in financial data analysis and reporting will contribute to budget variance analysis and expenditure management. This role, lasting up to 24 months, requires a strong understanding of financial principles and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Input financial data in the accounting system reliably

• Analyze capital contract tender purchases and invoices

• Support budget preparation and forecasting processes

• Assist with year-end variance reporting and reconciliations

• Develop job-related policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Business or accounting diploma with related coursework

• Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• High-level Excel skills for report generation

• Knowledge of People Soft is preferred
